Dirty Pour Painting, Dirty Pour Workshops and Dirty Pour Evolution

What is a Dirty Pour?

The Dirty Pour Painting Technique is the art process of taking paint mixed with certain additives and pouring different amounts of this paint concoction into a cup overlapping the colors, but now fully mixing them. This cup is then poured onto a canvas, then maneuvering the canvas by tilting it, moving the paint across the canvas to reveal an abstract image.

Basically a one color paint pour is called a Clean Pour, when more than one color poured is called a Dirty Pour.

The Dirty Pour Workshop

The Dirty Pour Workshop is pure entertainment in exploring color. Each Person pours their own canvas with the colors they select and Pour into their cup. Everyone looks on as the process begins and curiosity anticipates the outcome as the paint is poured. The mystery of how it comes out of the cup is up to the cup! The Artist take the canvas and slightly lifts it in a side to side motion as the paint slides revealing beautiful color. In a Paint Party everyone watches each other and enjoys the Art Process.

Personally what I love about Dirty Pour Painting is that anyone can do it and have a great painting result. The less experiance artist really flourishes here for it gives that person a good art experience opening the Door of Creativity to paint and try more.

The Dirty Pour Evolution

Dirty Pour Paintings make great backgrounds or starting points to create more upon. Evolution of a Dirty Pour is pure exploration and immagination. In this section are a few canvases I Evolved into More

Sister's Song

16x20 Acrylic on Canvas Dirty Pour Evolution

With Short Story.

In the desert night shadows of Joshua Tree two Cahuilla Indian Sisters dance to the memory of their Father’s Song. A golden bear and a hummingbird sit upon a boulder watching their loving dance. Their Father’s Spirit joins them and his image can be seen in the smoke from the fire against the ancient boulders. The Milky Way and the Full Moon rise and carry their energy into the Heavens as the Great White Owl watches on. Curious visitors emerge from the nook and crack in the rocks. Kissing Snakes slither to be together. A sleeping lizard wakes and raises its head. The Chupacabra stops its nighttime mischief and is calmed by the ritual. A family of Joshua Trees and Ancestor Spirits join in on the night time fun in the rock formations of Joshua Tree.

Sometimes I go into an Image to find more.

Here I took a Dirty Pour I created and experimented with the image to see what I can discover.

The mysterious image of a Third Eye emerged and I found it to be remarkable.
